Pearl Street Parking Structure Stairs – Eugene, OR

Completed in the spring of 2018 this project consisted of giving the existing concrete and steel stairs at The Pearl Street Parking Structure a much needed makeover.

A priority for this project was to update the overall safety and durability of the existing steel stair system while maintaining as much of the existing stair structure as feasible.

When working with an existing structure the process can be overwhelming but the team at MAE has the experience and attention to detail needed to give your project the facelift it deserves.

Richardson Sports – Warehouse Expansion – Springfield, OR

Richardson Sports – Warehouse Expansion – Springfield, OR

Richardson Sports has been in business in the Eugene area for over 50 years! MAE Engineering is proud to have led the design team that helped this local business meet its growing demands adding more than 29,000 sqft of additional warehouse space.

The warehouse addition was constructed with 40 foot tall prestressed concrete panel walls on three sides. Complete with loading docks, a shipping office, breakroom, restrooms and more, this warehouse addition is designed to seamlessly integrate to the existing Richardson Sports facility giving this thriving business room to grow.

.

Incorporated with the prestressed concrete panel design is the steel brace and column system which works to keep this large space open as well as allowing for greater interior building heights that simply wouldn’t be practical with other building systems.

Prestressed concrete panels offer a simple design solution that lends itself perfectly to a large structure such as the Richardson Sports warehouse expansion. Allowing for accelerated construction schedules, this building system provides an efficient and durable design without sacrificing quality.

Have a business or facility that needs room to grow? The team at MAE is ready to help you make it happen.

Hult Center for the Preforming Arts – Sylva Hall

Hult Center for the Preforming Arts – Sylva Hall

Talk about a high wire act! In 2018 the Hult Center for the Preforming Arts needed to install a new lighting system for the Lion King Production. The only catch was the lighting system needed to be suspended some 60 feet above the stage, all without interfering with the aesthetic of the beautifully designed Sylva Hall basket weaved ceiling!

The key to this projects’ success stemmed from MAE working with the expert guidance of the Hult Center Staff. We also relied on the specialized contractors Extreme Access to finalize a design solution that met all the projects structural needs, was feasible to construct and maintained the desired visual style.

Our final agile structural design, involved constructing three steel anchor points within the Hult Centers existing concrete bulb truss system. This system would then support steel columns and a beam below. The Hult Centers rigging team would then have the ability to tie off the Lion Kings specialized lighting truss where they needed it, and then be able to remove it after the performance was over.

Sometimes our clients have unique and lofty expectations. The team at MAE has the tools and expertise to take on even the most challenging of projects.
